Missions And Local Outreach

A Heart For Missions

If you have a heart for missions you’ll want to see what God is doing through ResLife! Every week we share the solid biblical teachings we get from Pastor Duane Vander Klok through the ministry of Walking By Faith. Teachings are broadcast around the world via television and the internet.

ResLife supports missions and missionaries in locations all over the world including Mexico, Poland, Pakistan, Russia, Cuba, India, Guatemala, the Czech Republic and more. We also help support the World Missions initiative for Treasure audio bibles that bring God’s word translated in native languages.

Our Community

Our outreach ministries bring the gospel to some of the unique challenges our community faces every day.

LOCAL OUTREACH

ResLife supports many local west michigan outreaches such as Access of West Michigan, Mel Trotter Ministry, West Michigan Teen Challenge, Love Your Neighbor and more that include the inner city of Grand Rapids, for both adults and children.

Some of these local outreaches, Dream Center, Street Light, Prison Ministry,  Pregnancy Resource Center, and our Food Pantry offer opportunities for you to be involved.

CAP: CHILD ANTI- EXPLOITATION PARTNERSHIP

Through ResLife’s sponsorship and Crisis Aid, the CAP program works with local law enforcement. The Children’s Anti-Exploitation Partnership (CAP) Program here in West Michigan is located inside the Wyoming Police Department. This program helps police officers connect children and teens identified with at risk behavior and their families to a CAP advocate for counseling and mentorship. ResLife funds this program through Crisis Aid International to manage and staff it to the highest capability. Since opening, the CAP Program has counseled over 100 girls and family members. This is a tremendous blessing in our community!

The House of Hope

The House of Hope will become a safe place of refuge and restoration to minister to young women and teens rescued out of sex trafficking making it possible for them to reconnect and build a new future. Referrals will come from police or FBI. Crisis Aid International will manage and staff the home, located right here on the ResLife property! We will be able to share the Gospel with these girls, and their lives are going to be changed!

We are so thankful to our congregation, community, and contractors for all of the contributions that have come in for the House of Hope Project! This project will continue to be our focus for 2024. We ask for your continued support to change the lives and future of the girls who will make the House of Hope their home upon its completion.

PRISON MINISTRY

The Prison Ministry, makes weekly efforts to reach the lost and hurting people in the prison system of Michigan. We minister the life-changing power of God through preaching the Word, sharing testimonies of God’s changing power, providing discipleship for former and current inmates, mentoring inmates, encouraging through music, and ministering to children of incarcerated parents through Angel Tree. Volunteers meet on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in Room 115. All are welcome! Contact: Yago at [email protected]

When a family is in crisis, kids can become vulnerable to neglect and abuse. No family should experience this.

Through the Safe Families for Children ministry, volunteer Host Families offer loving care to parents, watching over their children while the parents regain stability. Res Life also supports Safe Families through Bethany Christian Services.  Safe Families for children keeps families together during difficult times.

The Grand Rapids Dream Center is a movement that builds trusted relationships through weekly consistency and authenticity inside the communities of our city. Our heart is to lead people to a totally committed relationship with Christ. We do this by mobilizing God’s people outside the church walls through multiple outreaches and impacts in the areas of community, delivery, and learning.
